What vaccinations will my pet need for boarding?
All dogs must be current on their Parvo/Distemper (DHLPP), Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations. Cats must be current on Feline Distemper and Rabies.  Written or verbal proof from a veterinarian are also required.

How old does my pet have to be so it can board at Country View Kennels?
Pets must be at least 6 months old. At 6 months old all pets should have completed their puppy or kitten vaccinations and rabies.

If I have two dogs can they board together?
Yes, as long as they get along well at home there shouldn’t be a problem.

Can my dog be bathed before it goes home?
Yes, we do offer bathing, brush outs and light grooming upon request the day your dog goes home at a minimal cost. Prices do vary so ask us for a specific price quote when you drop off. We are also happy to bathe your dog even if it isn't boarding with us. Feel free to call anytime to schedule an appointment.

Is there somebody at the kennel 24 hours?
Yes, we live right on the property and a kennel owner or employee is always here. We do not answer the telephone or allow visitors after hours. Check-ins and check-outs are also only during business hours.

When do I pay for my pets boarding stay?
Payment is expected when you pick up your pet. No pet is released until all boarding charges are paid.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, all debit cards and cash.

How far in advance should I book a reservation?
We accept reservations at anytime. Major holidays and summer tend to be busy so you may want to book up to six weeks in advance.

Can a friend or relative checkout my pet for me?
Yes, as long as we have that persons name on the boarding contract as a person allowed to pick-up. It is a good idea to pre-pay your pet's board so your friend is not responsible for the bill.

In bad weather will my dog still get to go out or have leash walks?
Yes, each dog still has access to a covered outside run and exercise area. We may just adjust outside time to the weather conditions. We do have a large inside covered area for exercise as well.

Do you board older pets?
Yes. We do need to make sure your pet is in good health and able to get up and down on it's own.

Want to bring your own food?
No problem. Feel free to bring it in the original bag, your own container, and a zip lock bag or pre-measured baggies. Please no paper bags as the paper absorbs the oils in the dry food.

What about bedding and toys?
We suggest that some sort of self contained mat, rug, towel or blanket is best. Expensive or special bedding or toys are best left at home. If you forget to bring something we keep a variety of clean blankets, towels and mats as well as durable toys for your pets to use. Rest assured that everything is cleaned after every use.

What if my pet has special needs?
Sometimes pets are perfectly healthy but they need a little extra attention! We offer Special Care to Special Needs pets. Prices are based on the supplementary care required, which varies from pet to pet. If this is the case please let us know in advance of boarding. There are times when a boarding facility is not a choice and we will honestly refer you elsewhere.

What happens if my pet becomes ill while it is boarding?
During regular business hours we will take your pet to it's own veterinarian. After hours your pet will be taken to the emergency veterinary hospital. We will call your emergency contact number to let you know what is going on with your pet. While we do practice do diligence all charges are the responsibility of the pet owner.

What about fleas?
As a pet owner while keeping up with routine vaccinations so should you maintain a regime of flea and tic prevention. Grooming and bathing hygiene for your pet along with a topical prevention is highly recommended. For your pet as well as others boarding in our care we do check for fleas. If noted we will require treatment prior to boarding by the owner or if needed by us with fees being applied to boarding.

Why is my dog tired when it comes home?
Think about a kennel experience much like going away to camp. There is always something going on both inside and outside the kennel. This is often much more stimulus that many boarders do not experience throughout the day at home.  Different sights, smells and sounds create an interesting palate for every boarder!

Why is my dog thirsty?
Depending on size and need every boarder has an outside water bucket 1-2 gallons in size, which we replenish throughout the day as needed. Some boarders also require an inside water bowl. Often when they go home they are very excited from being reunited with their owners and the car ride home.  This behavior along with a good BM to mark his/her return is quite normal.
